Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Ahmed Ali Abedi, Friday Imam of Mumbai City in India, said in his Friday prayer sermons at the Khojaha Mosque in Mumbai, "These are the last days of mourning for Imam Hussain this year and there are only a few days left; Those who survive next year will mourn again. But the question that is in people's minds and should be in our minds as well, is what lesson have we learned from these two months of mourning? Is this just an annual event that we perform? Is there a purpose behind this repetition? We must determine this goal and understand what should be learned from mourning and what message should be conveyed to the world through these gatherings.”
He added, “We must send a message to the people of the world that Imam Hussein (PBUH) did not tolerate oppression and raised his voice against all kinds of oppression. Our fight will continue. Arbaeen is the best example that today we support the oppressed and stand against the oppressors. Arbaeen is a lesson. We should know the effects of the teachings given by Imam Hussain (PBUH). We must learn the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and practice them in our neighborhood. One of the most important messages of Arbaeen is to sacrifice our comfort for the comfort of others without discrimination.”
Hujjat al-Islam Ahmed Ali Abedi addressed the worshipers, noting,” During the days of Arbaeen, all people are engaged in service, from children to seniors. Children serve pilgrims with water and dates, or hold paper napkins and offer them to pilgrims with a smile. Little children are holding glasses and offering drinks to pilgrims. You see how little children serve the pilgrims; They make the beds for pilgrims. The Iraqis said that if we do not educate these children in this way, we will not find servants in the future.”
Friday Imam of Mumbai further stressed that we should also train our children to serve and help in religious programs. We must teach our children to spread carpets, hang banners, give water to the mourners. It should not be that we do all the work and the children just watch. We should learn this sacrifice from the children of Iraqis and also learn that not only the rich but also the poor offer what they have to the pilgrims. They are not ashamed, they believe that whatever God has given us, we sacrifice for the love of Imam Hussain (PBUH).
